Hi guys!
Mario here with another Server Spotlight!
This time it's the Minecraft Hunger Games server! This server has 400 slots (in the evening in England, there tends to be at least 300 players online) and a website! Now, this isn't just a random Hunger Games server. There are over 20 arenas, each with 20-70 slots. That means that an average of 1000 players could be playing at one time! IMAGINE THAT!! 1000 people playing the Hunger Games at once! There are currently 7 maps on the server, each different and spontaneous. Here are the maps:
Map #1: Manhattan (aka Survival Games 2) | SLOTS: 70
Manhattan is the 2nd largest Minecraft Hunger Games map. There are 70 slots available for this game type. It is also the 2nd least-cloned map. This map is very interesting because there are many dark settings which spawn many hostile monsters. Also something unique about this Minecraft Hunger Games map is that there is a sewer tunnel throughout the entire city which provides another element to coming out the winner.
Map #2: Epic Lands | SLOTS: 85
Epic Lands is the largest Minecraft Hunger Games map. This makes it unique from the other maps because games last much longer and this allows much more players during the matches. However, beware of the traps that are placed throughout these epic lands. One tip to consider during end game is to watch for lightning strikes to determine where your opponent is hiding.
Map #3: Arctic Peaks | SLOTS: 60
Arctic Peaks is a very well balanced map that offers lots of hiding places, traps and treasures. Lots of elevation makes this map feel much larger than it already is. This Minecraft Hunger Games map offers much diversity to explore. Matches on this map usually last 10-15mins and are very high intensity and thrilling.
Map #4: Mini Biodome | SLOTS: 35
Mini Biodome is the smallest map on this server. From the game starting to the finish it seems the cannons never stop firing. This map is for those who are seeking very fast matches and want to get their sword dirty. Games hosted on this map usually do not last longer then 10 minutes. The biodome element to this map makes it the most diverse as you battle your way through each element.
Map #5: Super Hills | SLOTS: 50
Super Hills offers a decent amount of space to play on. With its rolling hills surrounding the starting area it is easy to say this map feels much larger than it actually is. Many treasures are hidden beneath the sub surface which makes the map essential to ensuring your survival. People describe this map as the one with the PokéBall.
Map #6: Phantom Village | SLOTS: 55
Phantom Village offers a very unique setting. The starting point is located in a small village surrounded by walls. There are many building to garrison inside of. However, beware of the traps. Outside the village there is much diversity. Located near by is a farm and a lake, great for obtaining meat. Surrounding the entire village are forests easy to hide and get lost inside of. The forest area is great for losing enemies that are trailing behind you. There are many mountains which contain many treasures for you to discover. This map is good because of the great hiding areas. Matches generally last longer than usual on this map.
Map #7: Multi Biodome | SLOTS: 40
Multi Biodome is the newest addition to Minecraft Hunger Games. This is arguably the trickiest landscape to traverse. With rivers and lakes intersecting each part of this map it is easy to get caught off track. This map is slightly larger than the Small Biodome map. The number of hills, trees, rivers and lakes grant this map ultimate places to hide. This map is left to those who are veterans.
These descriptions were taken from the official website's descriptions.
Anyways, my favorite map is Number 7, the latest addition. I have won my first 2 Hunger Games EVER on this map. I would like to thank this server for that. Can I also thank this server for the support on my site, it is much appreciated :D
